Appropriate skin care is the first line of defense against dry, parched skin, and flare-ups of intense dehydration and irritation.

During the winter months, skin often looks and feels dry, scaly and itchy. People with skin diseases like eczema, rosacea, and psoriasis find exposure to cold and extreme temperature changes trigger and exacerbate these inflammatory symptoms. The goal of winterizing your skin is to maintain good skin barrier function and help prevent penetration of harmful bacteria. If you are under a doctors care, Dr. Berson suggests continuing prescription treatments as recommended.
