In the hustle and bustle of the modern day we have more responsibilities and less time to deal with them. Emerging technology has the sometimes-stressful effect of making us constantly accessible and busier people.

The stresses of life always seem to be increasing. The new book The Snowball Effect by psychotherapist Kristin Cuthriell is a guide to help people reverse emotions like anxiety, self-judgment and anger.

I highly recommend this book for anyone trying to overcome adversity and move forward in life, said Marney A. White, PhD, MS, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Yale University School of Medicine. The lessons provide specific and precise tools for people wanting to clear out the negative and learn to focus on the positive gifts in life.

The principles that guide the reader though daily exercises and reflections to improve their positivity are based on 15 years of research. Cuthriell also includes numerous case studies, which chronicle the challenges and successes in the lives of some of her patients and how they turned their lives around.

In this book, I have taken certain therapy skills and written them in easy to digest everyday language so that the reader can apply them to their life, Cuthriell said. I wanted to help people become more self-compassionate, which is one of the best ways to improve all of our relationships.
